Dr. Luigi Buonaguro is the Director of the Innovative Immunological Models at the National Cancer Institute “Pascale ”, Naples – Italy.

He is Adjunct Professor at School of Medicine, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Dept., Emory University, Atlanta, GA 30322, USA.

Dr. Luigi Buonaguro’s main focus is the development of a anti-cancer preventive/therapeutic vaccines. The HEPAVAC vaccine was developed for primary liver cancer (HCC) and tested in a Phase I clinical trial (NCT03203005; NCT06218511).

Currently, he is pioneering the development of cancer vaccines based on virus/bacteria-derived antigens mimicking tumor associated antigens (molecular mimicry), as off-the-shelf vaccines.
