Personal Information

Taia Wang, MD, PhD, MSCI, is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) and of Microbiology and Immunology at Stanford University, and a primary faculty member of the Institute for Immunity, Transplantation, and Infection. Her laboratory studies antibody and effector cell biology to improve vaccine responses and outcomes in infectious and inflammatory disease. Her work is recognized for defining IgG Fc glycosylation as a functional determinant of human immunity and for identifying mechanisms by which antibody signaling regulates inflammation in the lung. Dr. Wang earned her MD and PhD at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where her doctoral research with Dr. Peter Palese identified structural determinants of broad influenza virus immunity, and completed postdoctoral training with Jeffrey Ravetch at the Rockefeller University, where she studied human IgG and Fc receptor biology. She is a Burroughs Wellcome Fund Investigator, Searle Scholar, and a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation.
